**:In The Mouth Of Madness
Apart from their obligatory credit screen that can be found under the studio's logo, New Line Home Video has also hidden an additional trailer on the release of John Carpenter's 'In The Mouth Of Madness.'
From the disc's main menu go to actor Jürgen Prochnow's filmography in the disc's 'Cast and Crew' section.
Next to the mention of 'Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me' you will notice a small symbol, the shape of a little movie camera. Highlight that camera with your arrow buttons and press 'Enter' on your remote control, and you will get to see a trailer that particular movie. This
Easter Egg is a contribution from our reader Mike Wlodarczyk.

Hidden Game of Sorts
Access The Egg
To get to the hidden features, insert the second disc from the set and from the main menu, go to the 'Data Console.' Highlight the 'Main Menu' entry and then press the right arrow on your remote. This highlights the power LED on the computer and if you press 'Enter' now, you actually turn on the computer. Once turned on, a message appears briefly on the screen saying 'Access: 7-4-Enter.'
You can see and hear that the spaceship in the background has been activated. Now go back to the main menu very quickly and enter the spaceship while it is activated. In order to do that you need to enter the access code from the computer screen before the hovering space ship is deactivated after about 10 seconds. To enter the access code press the numbers 7 and 4 on your remote, followed by the 'Enter' key. This will take you right inside the ship. (On some players if your remote control has a '+10' key, you will have hit this key 7 times and then hit 4, followed by 'Enter' in order to gain access)
Once inside the spacecraft, you will have access to four more menu options. You can check out the very cool 'Sonic Separator' feature, which allows you to listen to different layers of audio that a movie is made of. On different audio tracks, the dialogue, the sound effects and the music of about 10 minutes from the movie have been isolated so you can listen to them individually. 'Combat Review' will randomly pick a combat scene from the movie, and 'Monitor Earth Broadcasts' is a feature that picks one of the fake newscast that were prepared for the movie at random and shows it to you. The versions shown are quite lengthy and much more exhaustive than what actually appears in the movie, so make sure to check them out!
There is another
Easter Egg hidden inside this menu. The access code '7-4' stands for July 4, and since they movie also plays on July 2 and 3, entering '7-2-Enter' or '7-3-Enter' like described above, will give you access to menus where you can select and watch all of the 12 'Combat Review' segments directly, while the other gives you direct access to the 22 newscasts from the 'Monitor Earth Broadcasts' feature.
**:Independence Day
On 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's special edition of the science fiction actioner 'Independence Day' you can find over one hour of additional features hidden on the disc, if you know how to access it.
On the second disc of the release, go to the 'Data Console.' Highlight the 'Main Menu' entry on this screen and then press the 'Right' arrow button on your remote control, which will start up the computer and display the message 'Access: 7-4-Enter' on the computer monitor. Accompanied by music you will also notice that the alien space ship in the background is now floating, as you have basically activated the ship.
Now return to the main menu to enter the ship. Time is of the essence here, as you will have to enter the ship before it is shut down after about 7 seconds. Use your remote control to enter the numbers '7' and '4' and then press the 'Enter' key and you will find yourself inside the space ship with an entirely new menu. This procedure is handled differently on different players however. If your player's remote control has a '+10' key, you will have to press this one 7 times and then follow it up by pressing the '4' key and then 'Enter.' Some player's don't require you to press the 'Enter' key at all, while other may need you to press '+10' once, followed by the '7' key, then the '4' and 'Enter.' It is a bit tricky and may require a little experimentation depending on your player model.
Once inside the ship you have access to he production credits of the DVD, as well as the 'Combat Review', a section in which you will get to see randomly picked combat and explosion scenes from the movie. The 'Newscast Broadcasts' will show you one of 22 randomly picked pseudo-real broadcast segments that were created for the film. Each of them is significantly longer than the bits you get to see in the movie, so make sure to check them out. Another section is called 'Sound Layer' and gives you the chance to watch a 10-minute segment of the movie with isolated audio tracks. One track contains the dialogues only. Another one contains only the film's sound effects. A third one contains only the music and the fourth track feature the final mix of all elements together.
Interestingly there are also hidden features within this hidden feature. If you enter the code '7-3-Enter' and '7-2-Enter', the other two important dates in the movie, the same way you entered the first access code, you will get to see menus through which you can directly select the comabt and broadcast scenes. That way you don't have to rely on watching the randomly picked segments and can instead choose exactly which one you want to see.
With well over one hour running length, this has to be the largest DVD
Easter Egg so far and it is also one of the coolest. This
Easter Egg is a contribution from our reader Marcus Kellerman.

**:The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
There is an exciting hidden feature on Media Blasters' release of the anime series 'The Irresponsible Captain Tylor.'
On the main menu you can see four space ships moving around the screen, and a targeting selector moving from ship to ship. Press the 'Right' arrow button and your pointer will become a targeting scope. Move the scope over one of the ships as it's highlighted by the selector and press the 'Enter' button.
With three of the four ships, you will be treated to a slide show of stills and promotional art. The fourth ship will play a clip of Captain Tylor playing a VR 'Whack-A-Mole' game. The slide shows are different for each volume of the box set, but the 'Whack-A-Mole' clip is always the same. Keep a close eye on each of the ships, as one of them is repeated in the targeting sequence before all four have been selected.
Another hidden feature that can be found on all discs is located in the 'Bonus' menus. Go to the 'Weblinks' section in these menus and then press the 'Up' arrow on your remote control to highlight the logo for the Tylor web site. Press the 'Enter' button and you will be treated to 'clean' versions of the original opening and closing credit sequences, without the credit text and the original 'eyecatch' (the sequence played before and after commercials) with 'Tylor' misspelled as 'Tailor'.
